Why This Build?

This kit leans plush but supportive—an ideal starting point for side and back sleepers, especially couples with different pressure points. The variety of support and comfort layers gives plenty of room to experiment. Once the couple finalizes their build (we’ll keep updates posted), other Dream Builders can use their tested version as a baseline or adjust based on similar needs.

 

Step 1: Prepare the Coil Base (Start of Trial Build Stage)
Before adding any comfort layers, begin by prepping your coil unit. This step lays the foundation for a smooth, durable build process.

• Use LayerLock to glue an insulator/support pad to the bottom of the pocket coil unit.

• Next, attach a 1" layer of 1830 poly foam beneath that support pad using LayerLock adhesive. This step adds structure, protects the base, and creates a more stable surface for testing.

Once the bottom layers are secure, flip the coil unit over so the top side is facing up.

• Then, use LayerLock again to laminate a ¾" densified fiber pad to the top of the coil. This breathable pad will gently conform to the springs below, offering a personalized break-in period as it adapts to your body.

🛏️Customization Tip:
If you're including a Precision Support lumbar pad in your build, we recommend placing it directly on top of the coils, before applying the ¾" densified fiber pad using LayerLock adhesive. This allows the lumbar pad to work more effectively, reinforcing the center third without disrupting the comfort layer feel above.

With your base fully prepped, you’re ready to move into the hands-on phase—experimenting with comfort layers and dialing in your perfect build.
